Welcome to the 2026 Itasca County SWCD Native Plant Sale!

Dear Itasca SWCD Community! 

The online sales have ended for the 2026 Itasca SWCD Native Tree and Plant Sale. 

Thank you for your support of conservation, keeping our woodlands and waters healthy and providing habitat for pollinators and other wildlife.

We do have some remaining stock available:

For trees, we have a few bundles (5 trees/ bundle; $12.50 per bundle) remaining of: northern red oak (3 bundles), swamp white oak (3 bundles), river birch (7 bundles), and white pine (6 bundles), and 1 wetland soils pack (25 trees, $60).

There 8 units ($45 each) of Pollinator Paradise seed mix. Each unit covers 500 sq ft.

5 boxes (1 lb concentrate) of Plantskydd deer repellant. $30 per box  

If you would like to purchase the remaining stock, please stop by the SWCD office. First come basis. Checks only accepted. 

Flowers, grasses, and flower kits are no longer available for purchase.

Dry to moist soils with full sun to part shade 

   

Warm season, perennial bunchgrass with blue-green stems 4-8 ft. tall. Turns red-maroon in the fall.  Moderately tolerant of acidity and can withstand periodic flooding and high-water tables. Also known as Turkey Foot.

Typically grows 3-5' tall (less frequently to 6') and is noted for its upright form and blue-green foliage. A warm season grass.

Little Bluestem

Schizachyrium scoparium

 

 

   

Dry to moist soils with full sun to part shade 

   

Forms dense mounds 18-24 inches tall. Slender blue-green stems often reach 3-5 feet, or more, by September, and become mahogany-red with white, shining seed tufts in the fall.  Deep roots and drought resistant.
