    Moist to wet soil with full to part sun     A classic MN native to our area. Shiny, yellow-bronze bark. Good wildlife value for birds. Twigs have been used as a tea.

    Conifer that grows to about 100 ft. Flat soft needles. Deer candy that must be protected. While known in the eastern US, it is a rare species in MN. Most were cut or burned in early 1900’s.
